Dec. 5, 2013 – On the third day after Yolanda struck, the management of Copylandia Office Systems Corporation decided to dispatch a team of three to Tacloban via Cebu.

Bringing along a van loaded with relief goods, the team of three led by our manager from Davao, Erben Garrido, braved all the unknowns to reach Tacloban, to render service, in whatever small way we can, to our employees, their families and whoever is along the way that could be reached.

Three weeks later, seven managers led by the President, Feliciano Juarez Jr., and the EVP, Bernadette Juarez, headed off for Tacloban and stayed for four days from November 29 to December 2. The group was joined by a team of three from Cebu, which included our Cebu branch manager, Oliver Testa. The team loaded a van with relief goods once again and journeyed to Tacloban via Ormoc, the same route that the initial group led by Erben fearlessly threaded days earlier.

Despite the physical challenges on the ground, the team, assisted by our Tacloban employees who were themselves survivors of Yolanda but seton doing their share to render service, set out to do what it planned from day 1 — to offer trauma relief to typhoon survivors by conducting several Breath & Sound Therapy (BeST) sessions to more than a thousand survivors in different evacuation sites—at the Youth Center, at the Tacloban Astrodome, in Barangay Anibong, San Jose Elementary School and at the Redemptorist Church.

Team Tacloban could not have accomplished what it set out to do without the support of its brave members: Romeo Pechon, Danny Gopole, Dave Concepcion, Rod Pagdilao, Arnie Lopez, Manny Bobier, May Flores from the head office, and Oliver Testa, Romeo Antone and James Anoba from the Cebu office.
