Paco Park Church

Paco Park Church

Paco Park Church, also known as the Saint Pancratius Chapel is a small domed church located in Paco, Manila. Named after Pancratius, a Christian martyr of Rome who is considered to be the patron of children, whose feast day is celebrated every 12th of May.

The church is of Romanesque architecture coordinated with its surroundings of what used to be the Paco Cemetery. The wholeness of the place with the park, the olden day cemetery and the Paco Church is reminiscent of the rich yet dark past of the country under colonial regimes. That is why the church is not only a favorite place for intimate weddings but as well for every sightseers who are looking for a place of solace in the midst of the city.

CAPACITY: Small (less than 100)

PARKING: Parking along the streets

  • No permit.

  • No choir loft.

  • Air-conditioned.

  • A fisheye lens will capture the entire interiors of the church.

  • Limited space to walk around the altar.

  • Ideal for intimate weddings since everybody can hear what the priest is saying even without a microphone.

  • During the procession, it is best to walk from the fountain to the altar so there will be outdoor and indoor shot of the entourage.

  • Group pictures are a bit tricky so small groups are preferred. Big groups are best taken outside the church.

  • During the recessional, tell your photographer to take the picture on top of the cement chairs outside. The overhead shot will give a different perspective of an otherwise ordinary shot.

  • Take portraitures on the church grounds. There are so many places to do it in Paco Park.

  • Don’t forget to capture the fountain as a background or foreground for your images.

  • Advise your photographer to take candid shots along Roxas Boulevard or the Bay Walk. This is very near Paco Church and most likely along the way to your reception.
